Het Zweden Huis

Het Zweden Huis
Furnished Energy-Conscious Co-Living Apartments
House History and Concept

Het Zweden Huis has had multiple lives. It started out as a residential building in the early 1900s, became a Swedish furniture shop in the ‘60s, and then a dentist office in the early 2000s. Het Zweden Huis is now home to the first 4 zero-carbon co-living Habi homes in Rotterdam.

We love to preserve and showcase the industrial beauty of old Dutch architecture. We’re talking original red-brick walls, historic staircases, and high ceilings.

Our building is decorated with refurbished mid-century Dutch designer (e.g. Braakman, Rietveld, Teeffelen, etc...) furniture inspired by the 60s Swedish shop. You’ll love it!

What does energy-conscious mean, anyway?

You don’t like things or people wasting your energy, right? Well, we feel the same way about our homes.

We create sustainable living environments with one thing in mind: to reduce energy waste.

At Habi, we stand behind three core sustainability principles: Conserving energy, using zero-carbon energy, and repurposing and recycling.

Conserving Energy
Using Zero-Carbon Energy
Repurposing and Recycling
Fully furnished bedrooms with a closet, bookshelf, desk, nightstand, lounge chair, bedside lamps, etc.
Double beds with duvets and pillows. Bring your own bedding!
Floor heating with individual thermostats for each room
Fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, oven, dishwasher, and large fridge
Washing machine and dryer
Smoke detectors and fire extinguishers
Optional cleaning service

Het Zweden Huis faces the Heemraadsplein, a large open city square, and is located in Rotterdam West, a historical, peaceful neighborhood with typical Dutch houses. Bars, cafés, and restaurants are just a short walk away. As are a lot of red-bricked buildings.

Are you the right match for a Habi home?

You’re picky about where you live. And we’re picky about who lives in our homes.
